Build A Bear Surprise

Makenna and Alexa were surprised with a trip to Build A Bear Workshop the day after Christmas. Grandpa and Grandma Lilly wanted to give the girl's these gifts for Christmas, but wanted to be able to share the experience with them. The girl's have never been to Build A Bear. Makenna was absolutely in love with it all. She picked out a pink bear with a teal dress, teal shoes, and pink purse. Alexa was just happy to have a bear. Thanks for the great gifts!!

Christmas 2010

It was a special Christmas this year because WE ALL were together. Brett's parent's BARELY made it from Iowa thanks to the weather, Curtis flew in from Seattle, Grant and his fiance Caitlyn came, as well as Bethany. What a great Christmas gift! We're thanking God for the special time together, because it is rare these days.

December Fun

The girl's love playing rough with Daddy. It's always fun until someone gets hurt.

Makenna and Alexa's small group friends. Sadly, this was our last meeting with our small group. After about 3 years we are saying goodbye. We formed such amazing friends and our thankful for their friendships and accountability. Brett and I are excited to start our own small group at our house starting in January. We have lots of new and old couples that we have attended the Compass Church and are now attending the new 111the campus. We're excited for the new friendships God will bring into our life through this new life group.

Finger Painting Fun! I seriously dreaded doing this activity, and I regretted it after we started, but the girl's had fun. Just a little too messy for me. But then again, what sort of activities do they do that are not messy?! Not too many. It doesn't help that Alexa will eat anything disgusting including finger paint, crayons, play-doh, etc.

Christmas Tree

We've continued our tradition of going to Home Depot and buying our Christmas Tree. I know, pretty pathetic. But it's close to our home and convenient. I love the smell of fresh Christmas trees and just can't bring myself to buy a fake one yet. It's been so exciting seeing the excitement of Christmas through Makenna's eyes.

Driving the race car at Home Depot while we are picking out our Christmas tree. The girl's LOVED it!

November Recap

Well most of November I was feeling pretty sick and very tired. So looking back, I'm pretty sure I layed around a lot and was trying to deal with my morning sickness which lasted all day, and the migranes that have haunted me this pregnancy. Glad that the month is over. We also got to spend Thanksgiving with my Dad and Mom. They came for the weekend and we enjoyed a great meal together.
NOVEMBER RECAP:
Makenna went to see Veggie Tales Live with some of her friends from church.

Brett and I enjoyed a night away in downtown Chicago. We went out to dinner, watched the Lion King at Cadillac Palace theater and stayed overnight in a Hotel. What a treat for us! Thanks Mom and Dad!We weren't allowed to take any pictures once inside the theater. They were very STRICT about that, so unfortunately I have no pics of the play. But it was pretty awesome!
