Me & My Little Princess

Makenna and her friend Caleb

Makenna and her buddy Caleb were born two weeks apart. Caleb's mommy Brittany is a very good friend of mine. Some days I think I might go crazy without her. We often have play dates at each other's house just to get out and do something. It's been fun seeing these two grow up, and they are just now starting to interact with one another. Walking and talking, it's so much fun!

She Loves Us and Jesus!

We've been asking Makenna if she loves Mommy and Daddy and she says yes. But this time I through in the the question, "Do you love Jesus?" She's still not quite sure about Jesus, but she will someday.

Happy Valentine's Day

Part of my Valentine's Day gift was this extra large heart that happened to say my name. Actually, this was a display that hung from the ceiling at Target. When Valentine's day was over, they took them down and Brett said he just had to bring this one home for me. I thought it was very creative and sweet of him.

Grandpa & Grandma Lilly

Grandpa & Grandma Lilly met us at the Ski Lodge and came to spend some precious time with their Granddaughter.

Brett Skiing!

Brett's like a kid in a candy store when it comes to skiing. We often argue about our preferences of vacation spots. He is totally a mountain guy, I'm totally a beach girl. Luckily, I got my way with Mexico. But I am glad that Brett got the opportunity to ski this winter because he really does love it.

Brett enjoys a wonderful day of skiing up in Northern Wisconsin, while Mommy and Makenna chill out in the Ski Lodge!

Grandpa's Turn!

Grandma Lilly & Makenna

Makenna loves books! I could read them to her all day long and she would keep them coming! I guess it's a good thing. So when Grandma comes to visit, I get a break, and she gets to do all the reading.

She Loves Us!

This a rare but priceless video where Makenna is admitting that she loves Daddy and I. Hopefully she will always feel this way about us. Just had to share it with you.

Any Advice?

Well Brett and I have planned our 5 Year Anniversary get away for this May to Cancun, Mexico. And boy, are we SOOOOOO excited! Although, in the midst of all this excitement, we realized we will have to leave our 17 month old daughter with trusted family members, and we started to panic. Have you ever left a baby/child to go away on vacation for a week? Please give me some advice and encouraging words because at the moment when I think about leaving her for a whole week, tears start to fill my eyes. It's going to be hard, and I know I have 3 more months to plan and prepare, but nothing is going to prepare me emotionally. And I really want to enjoy this vacation with my husband, but I can't help but think I will miss her terribly and think of her all the time. Can anyone help me?

Super Bowl Party

This was the 90 inch projector screen we watched the Super Bowl on last night. One word, "AMAZING"! It's actually bigger than it looks in the picture. We got together with our small group from church to watch the Super Bowl. Little did we know that when it was over, we were leaving with 3-4 inches of fresh, wet, snow on the ground, and it took us an hour to get home when it should have taken 20 minutes. What a night!

Rocking Chair from Grandpa & Grandma Lilly

Makenna got this Rocking Chair for Christmas from Gpa and Gma Lilly. Brett put it together this weekend, and Makenna loves it. She likes to sit with her baby doll and rock.

A Day of Play

We spent the afternoon at Coco Key Water Resort in Chicago yesterday. It was an indoor Water Park and we had so much fun! There was something for every age group, including tube slides and dark tunnels slides. Brett and I were like kids in a candy store. My dad Lee, came up to help watch Makenna. She had a blast too!
