Accidents happen

TODAY
ONE MONTH AGO

Well we made it through almost 3 1/2 years without any serious accidents that needed major medical attention. But recently we had a close call. Makenna was dancing around the dinner table and for some reason wasn't watching and ran right into it. It cut her just below her right eye and probably could have used one maybe two stitches. But Brett and I decided not to take her to the hospital and try the cheap, less expensive way with butterfly bandaids. Well after about 3 weeks, we are glad we used the bandaids. They worked really well and it's looking like she might not end up with a scar.

New Adventures

We recently purchased new bikes and a bike trailer. Brett and I used to have bikes but they were stolen from our apartment in Westmont right after we moved back from California. Brett and I enjoy the outdoors and love biking. WE have some of our best memories on bike trails in Northern California. Well now our kids are older and more mobile. We are looking forward to starting new advetures on our bikes and memories with our children.

Alexa Walking

Alexa started walking on her 13 month birthday. You forget how cute it is when they start walking. Although a lot changes happen once they start walking like they start reaching for everything on tables and countertops. They start running away from you. They stop being content in a stroller. And they get into way more accidents because they are falling over or walking into things.

Happy Easter

We enjoyed Easter Sunday with my family in Peoria. My sister Robin came up from Kansas City. I have to be so thankful that Jesus Christ is a BIG part of my family's life. And it's amazing to celebrate the sacrifice He made for us through His death, and the promise He made through His Resurrection. I am just overjoyed that I get to share that love with my family. We had a small birthday party for Alexa, and of course had to get some pics of the grand kids. Only grand kid not in picture is Drake because he was sleeping in his car seat and we didn't want to disturb him.

Happy 1st Birthday Alexa!

I can't believe our little Alexa is one years old already. I keep thinking the first six months of her life seemed like it took forever and the last six months flew by. People are already asking me when is baby #3 going to come. And let me tell you, NOT anytime soon. I'm in no hurry!!
Alexa had two birthday parties. Double the giant birthday cupcake, and double the fun! One party was at home with just us, and another with my family in Peoria. So you will see a mix of pictures. Alexa enjoyed every minute of it. She is our small, but mighty daughter. She very determined! And I've said this before, but if I could clone her, I would have lots of babies. What a perfect baby she has been. I know a lot of things are going to change once she starts walking. And she is SO CLOSE!! In fact, just today I saw her trying to take steps on her own. We are still waiting her to grow-HAHA!! Alexa you have brought us so much joy and we can see you being the comedian of the family. You already know how to make us laugh and you're a little performer. God definitely blessed our life by bringing you into our family. We LOVE YOU ALEXA!

Alexa update

We're one week away from her One year birthday! Wow, I can't believe she is almost ONE YEAR already. Since she started solids, she was very tight lipped about what went in her mouth. She went cold turkey on fruits and veggies, but refused to eat baby food. So I was a little frustrated for a while. She's doing much better with her picky eating. I have got her to eat some fruits now like bananas, mandarin oranges, and raisins. Still no veggies. She's crawling, cruising, walking behind a walker, saying mama and dada, clapping, plays SO BIG, waves bye, and she gets into everything. She's very curious, determined, and hot headed. I think we are going to have our hands full with her. But she still remains our cuddler, and we don't mind that at all. I'm very anxious to see where she is at on the scale and her height at her upcoming One year check-up because I know she is going to be on the low end. She is very short and petite, and we're not really sure where she gets that. She was only 18 1/2 inches long when she was born, which is VERY short. Makenna came out ahead of the game at 22 inches long and she continues to be at the top of the charts. It's hard not to compare, but we've had some difficulty with Alexa fitting into Makenna old clothes. Alexa is a size behind because Makenna was always a size ahead of her age. Very frustraing for us considering we were very excited about having another girl and not having to buy new clothes. We've haven't be so lucky. But Alexa is such happy go lucky baby, and we've enjoyed watching her grow.
