Family Reunion at Fun City

All my sister's and their families, plus my mom and dad met at Fun City in Burlington for a family reunion. This place is such a great place for adults and kids. It has an indoor and outdoor waterpark. Although, we didn't get to use the outdoor because it was closed because the high was only 67 degrees while we were there. I know crazy, it's August and it didn't even reach 70 degrees. Also, it has restaurants, a casino, arcade, go cart track, and bowling.
Here's Mae and Makenna on the Dance Revolution game. WE have many videos of us mom's attempting this machine. But WILL NOT be put on the blog. It's only saving us a whole lot of embarassment.

Fawn thought it would be funny to give me pig tails with her hair.

My sister's and brother-in-laws went bowling while Grandpa and Grandma watched the kids.

My Grandpa and Grandma

There was quite a few of us. We took many tables at the restaurant.

My Mom and Dad with all the grandkids. There are eight grandkids, all under the age of six. Plus, #9 is on the way. Brook is expecting in February. These pictures were taken on Sunday morning and the temperature was about 60 degrees. Poor little Alexa was freezing. Who would have thought we would be dealing with cold temps. the end of August.

Makenna & Dylan

Dylan is Brett's first cousin's daughter. She was born on day after Makenna. Makenna and Dylan don't get to see each other very often because she lives in Davenport. But it's nice when they can get together and see how they interact. They barely spoke to one another. Makenna was more interested in her toys and her cats. It's hard to believe that the girl's will be three in 4 months.

You can tell the girl's are shy around each other. They didn't want to touch each other.

This picture was forced. We made Makenna put her arm around her.

Grandma Pat visits

My mom was so kind to come stay with me while Brett was out of town for business. We went to the Brookfield Zoo, and did a lot of shopping. It was nice to have the extra help with the girl's, and to not be alone the whole time while Brett was gone.

Alexa update

This post is a little late because Alexa is almost 5 months. But at her four month check-up she weighed 13 lbs. 11 oz. And her height was 24 3/4 inches. She's a little above 50% percentile for both. She's still a runt compared to Makenna at her age, but just as strong. She does really well on her tummy and holds head up well. She is rolling over from back to stomach. She has her first tooth already and working on the second. She loves to sleep which is so opposite of her sister. We have noticed that she has quite a little temper on her. Wonder where she gets that? It's not me. Overall, she's been a very good baby.

Brother and Sister being silly. They're actually acting normal.

Grandpa and his only grandaughter's.

Makenna and Gpa & Gma's kitty. She loves that cat, and that cat loves her too. She pulls her tail and carries her around everywhere. Most cats wouldn't tolerate it. It was so cute to watch her follow her around, sit in the grass with her, and carry her everywhere. That poor cat!

We thoroughly enjoy the bike trail just down the road from Brett's parents house. And the best part was, it was the beginning of August and there was no humidity and no bugs. It was AWESOME!!!

Aunt B and I getting back from a very strenuous bike ride. NOT!

Makenna didn't want to ride her bike too long so she decided running was better. Crazy girl!

Gpa needed to wear his bike helmet to push the stroller. Couldn't pass up a picture of that. Just kidding, he gave up his bike so I could ride it for a while.

We are laughing at Gma Polly and her bike helmet.

Best part of our trip was of course family time, but some much needed rest, relaxation, sleep and sun. And that's pretty much what we did everyday.

Notice anything different?

The great thing about Target other than my husband working for them, is when you can find toys in the middle of july on clearance. I found this Barbie set that had a blonde wig, jewelry, and cell phone for only $5. I couldn't wait till Christmas:o)
