Alexa update

Alexa is 8 months now. I can't believe it. She is still such a runt. She is 16 lbs. 11 oz. I know that only because she was recently at the doctor for an ear and eye infection. She is waving hi and bye. She is not crawling yet, but gets places by rolling all around the house. She has 4 teeth going on 5 very shortly. She is still waking up before 6am. What am I doing wrong with this child? She is an early bird, and I AM NOT! I dream of the day when she will sleep till 7am. But...she is still such a sweet, cuddly little girl.

Just for fun!

Makenna's gymnastics!

You can tell from this picture how well she paid attention to her teacher.
Makenna's gymnastics is over for the Fall. I have to say she was quite interesting and frustrating to watch. I'm not sure if it was her age or her hyperactivity. She did not pay attention very well. She found a friend and the two of them were trouble together. Her teacher has a huge amount of patience. I can't tell you how many times I heard, "Makenna, go back to your carpet square."
But she really enjoyed it, and I am definitely signing her up for the Spring session.

Zoo in the Fall

We were lucky to have a 60 degree day last week and my sister Brook and her kids Mae and Noah, and my mom were able to spend a GORGEOUS day at the Brookfield Zoo. We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather and there weren't tons of people like there are in the summer. The kids had a blast!!

Mae and Makenna had a little admirer. This penguin was watching them and they were loving how close they were getting to it. It was pretty funny to watch.

A rare date night!

My mom was in town visiting for a week and Brett and I took full advantage of her being here. We took three date nights out of the six she was here. It was SO GREAT to get away and spend some QUALITY time as a couple. Since Alexa was born it's been very rare that we get a night out together alone. I can't thank my mom enough for giving us that special time away.
