Prayer for my Mom

My mom could use some healing prayers. Tuesday of last week she had a major surgery to repair her rectum( I know it sounds gross), she had her stomach cut open vertically from her belly button down with 40 plus staples in her incision. They cut a foot and a half of her colon out. She is still in the hospital a week later because it takes time for things to get moving again, and she is in a lot of pain. Please pray for her continued healing. I was able to spend most of last week with her while she was recovering. Thankfully, the other grandparents were able to take Makenna. I know they didn't mind spending time with their only grandchild.

Big shoes to fill

This is Makenna's foot in Brett's size 14 shoes. Kind of funny, huh? It really makes her look small. Even though..she is on her way to having big feet. She is already ahead of the game with a size 7 shoe and she is 19 months old.

Makenna's new best friend

Makenna's new best friend is my friend Emily's dog, Fletcher. Notice from the pictures that Makenna thinks it's ok to sit with Fletcher on his doggy bed. Luckily he doesn't shed a lot of hair. Makenna loves playing with him because he is her size.

Makenna and Dylan

Makenna and Dylan (her first cousin once removed) who was born one day after her. They are the first two great grandchildren on the Moeller side (Brett's Mom). Makenna never cooperates for a picture. She is either crying or eating.

Makenna's 1st boat ride

Makenna's first boat ride. She loved it! Didn't want to get off when it was over.

The Lilly Cottage

This Lilly Cottage was built in 1928 by Brett's great grandfather. He was a brain surgeon that ironically died of a brain tumor but that's a whole other story. Anyways.. they built this small 3 bedroom cottage along the Fox River in McHenry, IL. They would come spend there summers here. Brett has the fondest memories of McHenry and coming to stay in the summers. The best part was sleeping on the porch. One bedroom is called the Bunk Room. There are 4 bunk beds in there. Another room is called the Honeymoon Suite. Any couple with a young baby in need of a crib gets this room. And there in one other room with a bed for two. And then there are 4 twin beds with trundles on the porch. When I think of McHenry, I think of camping, but indoors. There is no AC, and it's really just a place to play and sleep. We don't put a lot of money into it. Well the cottage was split between Brett's grandpa and his siblings, so there are more than just one Lilly generation that uses it. We split up weeks in the summer between the families. We usually get 2 weeks a month June-August. Now keep in mind, Brett's dad is 1 of 11, and there are 35 grandkids, and one great grand kid (Makenna). So the weekends can become very packed. This place means the world to all the Lilly's and we hope it will stay in the family for more generations to come.

Welcome to the world Nash Eli Kieser

Just wanted to let you know that I have a new nephew as of Thursday. Nash Eli Kieser was born at 2:30 on July 3rd. Weighed 9 lbs. 1 oz, and was a week early. BIG BABY! Nash is the 3rd boy of my sister Fawn & Brent Kieser. I believe they are done with kids now. Three boys is a nice way to complete their family. I know everyone was hoping Fawn would finally get her girl, but God had a better plan. I can't wait to meet the little guy. I will be visiting him this week and will post pictures as soon as I can.

Hilarious!

Watch Video all the way to the end. It cracked me up!

Counting...sort of!!
